The change was endorsed at the ordinary council meeting on February 21, and is part of several that have been put in place at the meeting.
Council has confirmed that the bulky waste collection service will be in place in the future, and included as a requirement in future contracts.
Bulky waste services will be put through via a pre-booking system, instead of being a scheduled service.
Residents will also pay the domestic waste charge and will receive a kerbside collection service.
There have not been any changes to the types of items that can be collected.
New contract processing arrangements however, mean 50 per cent of collected materials will be diverted from landfill.
The bulky waste collection service will be available for residents from July 1.
Council administrator Viv May PSM also endorsed the change of operation hours at the Resource Recovery Centre in Moss Vale.
It will operate every Monday to Saturday from 7am to 4pm, and 7.30am to 1pm from April 1.
