A Willy Wonka, a few Harry Potters and the butterfly from the Hungry Catepillar were spotted among many students, who were dressed up to celebrate book week at Robertson Public School.

The school came together to mark the occasion on August 24 with a parade, where parents, grandparents and loved ones watched on as students showcased their costumes.
The Children's Book Council of Australia is behind the annual event, which champions books and Australian authors and illustrators.
This year's theme across the country is Read, Grow, Inspire, where schools also hold parades and students can dress as their favourite characters.

"The more books we read, the more we grow and are inspired to do great things," said Robertson Public School principal Gordon Parrish.
Classes smiled, danced and waved as they showcased their costumes to different songs, and the adults were invited to join the final lap to Village People's hit Y.M.C.A.
The book week celebration will continue on August 25 with the school's canteen offering book-themed snacks.
