The name Jess Powell might be familiar to you, because she has been performing around the Highlands for quite some time.

She has honed in on her singing skills with the Vocal Muster, and performed at cafes, pubs and festivals across the region, such as the Highlands Fest and the Bundanoon Winterfest.
Her passion for music has also taken her to coporate functions and private parties.
The Australian Institute of Music student was also part of the Create and Celebrate initiative, which provides youth with the chance to explore the entertainment industry.
The former Bowral High School student is Highland FM's Home-Grown Feature Artist this month.
The radio station's initiative shines a spotlight on, and celebrates musical talents across the region and southern NSW.

Throughout August, listeners will hear a collection of the upcoming artist's tracks such as Summer Skies and Slow Burn, which were recorded in the Highland FM studios.
Following her Vocal Muster performance in 2022, she said she enjoyed seeing people get together and connect with music.
The singer-songwriter discovered her love for music when she started playing the guitar and began to sing.
She took part in her first musical in Year 7, then took up singing lessons.
Her skills have also been recognised globally - Miss Howell placed first and second in the Charleston Music Competition.
Musical influences for the singer-songwriter include artists Suzi Quatro, Stevie Nicks and The Veronicas.
