The 37-29 victory in round 13 of the Illawarra Zone Rugby Competition was massive for the Blacks as they were playing a side close to them on the ladder.
"The win was huge for us as we were deducted four points throughout the week for forfeiting which brought us down further down the ladder," Blacks coach James King said.
"We had a disruptive week with a lot of players out and so we had to shuffle a few people out.
"To get the points over a big team like this, while playing the majority of our second grade forward pack, really helped our morale."

It was tight throughout, with scores level with 10 to go, but Philp's try sealed the win in what King said was the best performance he'd seen from his side all season.
"The game panned out the way I expected," he said.
"It was tit for tat, just like in round one, but we hung onto our ball, had good ball control and stuck to our basics.
"They attacked us with their height like we thought, played a lot around the ruck and didn't really spin the ball to the edge, but we do, so that worked in our favour.
"We knew if we were tight and physical, it would give us the win."
Playing finals will be a difficult task, but King said there was still hope.
"For the rest of the season, we want to see the same grit and attitude," he said.
"As long as we're progressing forward each week, we'll have a chance of playing finals footy."
The next challenge for the Bowral Blacks will be the Vikings Rugby Club from 3pm on Saturday, July 29 at Eridge Park.
