In the home leg, the only shining lights in the eight games played were Frank Murnane and team captain Scott Winsor pulling off wins.
The highlight of the day was a standout performance by club captain Howard McMillan.

With regular players unavailable, McMillan, who plays off 18, stepped in to make up the numbers, and was drawn against a four handicapper.
Being a scratch event, it was always going to be a tough assignment keeping up with his more fancied opponent.
After conceding the first four holes, McMillan showed all his ability in clawing back his rival to square his game, an outstanding achievement.
McMillan put his recent form down to a series of targeted lessons and practice drills designed by club professional Davyd Reeves.
In club competitions, Lynn King, playing off 11, showcased her short game prowess from the yellow tees with 40 points including three birdies to hold out a strong challenge from arch rival Sylvia Sylvester in the Women's Stableford.
Wednesday's medley Stableford, played in cold and windy conditions, saw Alex Prophet fire a smart 38 points to win from an in-form David Hussey who notched up 37.
The Dormie House Dinner for Two for the nearest the pin on the sixth hole went to Harry Hedley.
The first round of the men's Foursomes Championship saw reigning champions Brian and Jason Ashcroft looking to make it three in a row.
Carding a nett 71.5 was good enough to hold on to second place from Justin Allen and John Aughton on nett 70.
Charlie Camphin, fresh off a sub-par round the week before, teamed up with Greg Robinson to be placed third on 72.5.
The concluding round will be played on Saturday, June 24.
