Midwinter Festival
A wintery celebration
There will be live music, food, wine, a large sculpture will be set alight and more to honour the winter solstice. Award-winning Gundungurra-raised Gunai writer and artist, Kirli Saunders OAM has also created a choreographed drone light show show, which will celebrate the ancestral stories of the late Aunty Velma Mulcahy. See it all at Ngununggula from Friday, June 23 to Sunday, June 25. The drone show takes place on June 23. Check out the whole program on ngununggula.com/midwinterfestival.

Lots to celebrate
There is lots to see at this recreational paddle festival such as contributing to a world record attempt, expos, stalls and more. Enjoy it all at the Gangurang in Kangaroo Valley from Friday, June 23 to Sunday, June 25. People can hire boats and there are free activities to enjoy as well. Learn more at thefock.com.au/home.

Books galore
Discover pre-loved books as far as they eyes can see at this book fair. Find your next read on Saturday, June 24 from 8am to 4pm at the Exeter Hall. There will also be a cake stall and activities for children.

A groovy time for kids
Children up to the age of 14 can strap on their dancing shoes and get groovy with their friends at this disco. Attendees will have the chance to win gift vouchers, which will be drawn on the night. Children can have a blast on Saturday, June 24 at Mittagong RSL from 4pm to 6pm. Entry is five dollars per child, with funds going back to children in the local community. You can call 0412 321 555 for further information. It is a cash only and no-alcohol event.

A myriad of symphonies
The orchestra will perform symphonies by Mozart, the second Sibelius Symphony, Paul Stiles, and more. Relax and enjoy the show on Saturday, June 24 at the Bowral Memorial Hall, from 7.30pm to 9.30pm. Tickets are $45 per adult, $38 for seniors and concession holders, $15 for students aged 16 to 21 and free for children aged 15 and under. Buy them through Trybooking.

The wonders of the northern lights
Enjoy the technicolour delights of Europe's northern lights, right here in the Highlands. See it all every Thursday to Sunday until Friday, June 30. Tickets start at $25 for adults, $20 for concession holders and $10 for children aged between two and 15. Children below two can enter for free. VIP packages, which include entry, a souvenir lanyard, access to a premier viewing area and a redeemable drink voucher, start at $55 each. They can all be bought through Ticketek. A shuttle service will also be available throughout.
