Wander through more than 30 hectares of manicured gardens, which surround the former home of James Fairfax AC. People can bring a picnic and relax under the trees. Discover it all from Thursday, April 27 to Sunday, April 30 at Retford Park, from 10am to 4pm. Adults can visit the gardens for $18.67, $16.59 for full-time students, seniors, pensioners and children aged five to 15 and $51.95 for a family (two adults and two children or three children and one adult). Children under five and National Trust members can enter for free. Book through Eventbrite. Dogs are also allowed but must be on leads at all times.
Women Walk the World 2023
Support women globally
The Exeter Country Women's Association branch invites people to take part in a community walk and enjoy a morning tea to raise funds for the Associated Country Women of the World (ACWW). The ACCW is affiliated with the United Nations, and funds for projects for women in developing countries. Join in on Friday, April 28 at the Exeter Village Hall and oval from 9.45am to 11.30am. It is $30 per person and people can reserve a spot through Trybooking.
Berrima Singers presents In Paradisum
French Symphonies
Members of the Berrima Singers are going to bring the symphonies and choruses of French composer Gabriel Fauré to life. The program includes 'Cantique de Jean Racine' and 'Requiem', as well as other works which explore everlasting love. They will be led by Columbian-born Australian pianist, vocalist, composer and conductor Dr Carlos Alvarado. See it all on Saturday, April 29 at the St Jude's Anglican Church in Bowral, at 3pm. Tickets are $30 per person and can be bought through Humantix.

Stand-Up Comedy Workshop for youth
This week
As part of Youth Week, stand-up comedian Anthony Lamond will teach teens between the ages of 13 and 18 all about comedy. They will learn about stage presence and creating a character, microphone techniques, developing a small routine for a graduation performance, editing material and more. It will take place at the Wingecarribee Shire Council civic centre on Sunday, April 30, from 10am. It is free and people can register through Eventbrite. Lunch will be provided.

A book set in the Highlands
Screenwriter, producer and author will talk about her debut thriller Echo Lake - a mystery novel set in the Southern Highlands. See her on Tuesday, May 2 from 11am, at Bendooley Estate. Tickets are $60 per person, which include lunch and dessert and can be bought through bendooleyestate.com.au, or by emailing kelly@bendooleyestate.com.au.

Walk through a set of breathtaking gardens in seasonal hues. All proceeds will be donated to Hearts of the Highlands. See it all at Milton Park until Sunday, May 7 from 9.30am to 4pm. People must go to the reception prior to entry. Adults can visit for $7, $5 for concession holders and people using the coach (minimum of eight people required) and free for children in school.
