Here's what you can expect from Brigadoon
It wouldn't be Brigadoon without the Massed Pipes and Drums band street parade, starting from 9am and ending at 9:45am at the Bundanoon Oval for the opening ceremony display.
At 10 am, the official opening ceremony will commence with Chieftan of the Day 15th Earl of Loudoun Simon Abney Hastings.
Between 10:20am and 10:45am there will be a Scottish dancing display, followed by the Australian Heavy Weight Championship.
Over in the Fiddlers Tent, the likes of Mary Kiani, Sally Andrews, Sydney Scottish Fiddlers, Bob McInnes and Jane Ellis will keep everyone entertained between 10:45am to 4pm.
Traditional - and not so traditional - Highland games will take place at 11 am, as will the Brigadoon Challenge, where members of the public can participate in the caber toss and stone put.
Also taking place between 11am and midday, is the Bonnie Bairns Highland Dress competition. The youngest members of the community will put their best fashion foot forward.
The Southern Highlands Kennel and Obedience club will put on a spirited display at 11:15 am and 1:15 pm.
New to Brigadoon is the Grannies Story Telling Tent. Taking place between 12:15pm and 2:30pm, children will enjoy wonderful tales such as Wee Willie Winkie, The Gruffalo, and more. Three sessions will be on offer where stories will be read in the Scottish lowland tongue. Spaces must be reserved as spots are limited. Wristbands can be collected outside the Story Telling Tent next to the Bonnie Bairns tent. Entry is a gold coin donation.
At 2:30pm the Kilted Dash will take place, followed by the Egg Challenge at 2:45pm. At 2:50 pm the Earl of Loudoun will present the winner and overall champion of the Australian Highland Heavy Weight Champion.
This will be followed by the lifting of the Bundanoon Stones at 3:10pm, and the winner will be announced at 3:40pm.
At 4pm the massed Pipes and Drums band will commence the closing ceremony, followed by the closing address at 4:30 pm by Bundanoon Highlands Gathering president and Chieftan of the Day.
