Sing Australia Southern Highlands (SASH) choir
- Every Monday, Bowral Uniting Church Hall, 6-8pm
People with a passion for singing can come along and join this group. They do not have to audition, nor have to have a particular vocal range, but can come along for fun performances. The choir performs in the Highlands, nationally and overseas. There are moderate membership costs. Call Christine Melican on 0430 082 840 for more information.
Handicrafts with CWA Bowral
- April 4, 40 Wingecarribee Street, Bowral (adjacent to the Corbett Gardens), 10am-12.30pm
Women interested in learning more about handicrafts can learn new skills and make friends. The CWA Bowral branch's handicraft officer will teach different techniques each month, and all creations will be sold at Tulip Time when donations are given to local charities. Justice of the Peace volunteers are present to witness documents at the following locations:
- Springett's Arcade: every Wednesday from 10am to 1pm
- Moss Vale IGA: every Thursday from 10am to 1pm
- Mittagong Marketplace: every Friday and Saturday from 10am to 1pm
Soul Food Co Op and Soul Warmers Café
- Every Thursday, 37 Regent Street, Mittagong, 9.15am-12pm
This café and co op is ran by the community for anyone in need. There is a variety of discounted produce, bread, non-perishables, frozen food and meals. Free coffee is also served. Learn more about the initiative via Soul Warmers Café and CO-OP on Facebook.
Southern Highlands Evening CWA meeting
- April 6, CWA room Winifred West Park, Mittagong, 6.30-8.30pm
Southern Highlands Evening Branch (SHE) of the CWA is a passionate group of women who are determined to make a difference. The branch formed in 2011 for women who prefer to meet in the evening. Meetings are held on the first Thursday of the month. The branch represents a variety of ages, interests and skills, with something for everyone. International Folk Dancing group
- Every Thursday, Bowral Presbyterian Hall, 10.30-11.30am

Prancing for Parkinson's
- Every Thursday, Bowral Baptist Church, 1.30-3pm
People diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease can dance and improve their movements on a weekly basis. They are lead by occupational therapist and dance teacher Margaret Connor. Classes are one hour, followed by a 30 minute debrief with a cuppa. They cost $10 per person with Parkinson's, and friends, family members and carers can participate for free. Koori Flag Raising and Mirror Flashing
- April 8, meeting at Gibbergunyah Reserve Entrance on Boronia Street in Bowral, from 1pm
The community is invited to connect with First Nations people and country, with a flag raising event in the heart of the Highlands, with the Woonjeegaribay Conciliation Group Inc. There will be a bush walk, welcome to country, smoking ceremony, poetry, afternoon tea, lessons on bush tucker and medicine, and more. Transport is available for people who may have the difficulty making the walk. A mirror flash will also take place, which acknowledges Gundungurra land, pays respect to Elders past, present and emerging, and connects lands across the Southern Highlands to the Blue Mountains. Attendees are encouraged to bring along a mug and food to share after the ceremony. People can contact the WCG via woonjeegaribay.c.g@gmail.com for more information.
Crop Swap Robertson
- Every Saturday, CTC Robertson, 9-10.30am
Exchange crops, plants and magazines at this weekly activity. People do not have to come with crops to take anything from the table. No money is exchanged. All are welcome.
Volunteering opportunities through Volwing
Volwing is the region's volunteer resource organisation, where people can make a difference in the community, learn new skills and make friends. There are a variety of positions available that cater to many interests. Positions include teaching learners to drive, greeting tourists at museums, serving food, being a reading assistant at a primary school, tending to gardens, helping people shop, and more.
