The Hilltop Northern Villages Cricket Club has taken out their first Highlands District Cricket Association title following a comprehensive victory over the Bowral First Grade side at Bradman Oval on Sunday, March 26.
The Hilltop players had been together for over four years and their captain David Spies said it showed that hard work does pay off and that it was great to see their preseason goal come to fruition.

"We spoke about winning the competition at the start of the season and it was great to see it happen," Spies said.
After losing the toss in the grand final, which would have been played on the Saturday as well if it wasn't for rain, Bowral was put into bat.
Hilltop only needed a draw as they finished on top of the home and away ladder, so Bowral declared at 7 for 153 in a bid to win by the end of the day's play.
James Morton was the pick of the batters in the first innings with 77 off 63 deliveries while Alex Debs was Hilltop's best bowler with figures of 2 for 48 off 17 overs.
Spies said heading into the second innings, he knew a good start was vital.
"Chasing 150 runs can be difficult, but our openers got us off to a great start," Spies said.
"That made the chase a whole lot easier."
The result was never in doubt, with Hilltop claiming the honours with eight wickets left in the shed.
Opener Joshua Whitfield was the highest run scorer for the winners with 61 off 57 balls.
Hilltop's second division side also won their grand final against Wingello.
