The 78-year-old singer-songwriter announced on March 18 that he had a "viral infection", via social media.
"Hello my friends. I am absolutely downhearted that I'm disappointing my fans who bought tickets to A Day on the Green," he said.
"Late this morning, I was advised that I have a viral infection and my throat is too irritated to sing.
"I'm only human and sometimes get sick just like you do.
"My greatest joy is performing for you, so I'm doing everything I can to get on the mend and back on stage!"
Roundhouse Entertainment said the Highlands concert on April 2 will go ahead, along with his other shows.
"There are no changes to the remainder of Rod Stewart's Australian tour dates," a statement said.
He performed at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre with Cindy Lauper and Jon Stevens this week, on March 21, and assured fans prior via Instagram, that it was going ahead.
It followed after his Geelong concert with the two artists was cancelled on March 18 "due to illness", a Facebook post by A Day on the Green said.
Tickets for the Bowral concert are still on sale through adayonthegreen.com.au.
It was originally meant to take place in October, 2020, but was postponed due to the pandemic, and was moved to March, 2022, and cancelled for the same reason.
