Welcome April with the return of the beloved Scottish fest Brigadoon, go to a local market, see some art or take a walk through a historical garden.

Gardener's Breakfast
An autumn delight
Indulge in a local breakfast of croissants, frittatas, fruit and more, and walk around historical garden grounds with head gardener Keith Hunter. Attendees can bring binoculars, a notepad, camera, waterproof shoes and a hat. Come along on Thursday, March 30 from 9am to 11.30am at Retford Park. Tickets are $58.51 for National Trust members, $68.95 per adult and $63.73 for concession holders. Buy them through Eventbrite.

Brigadoon
Scottish fun
Watch a street parade full of floats, pipe bands and marching clans, watch Scottish country dancing, take part in games and wear tartan for Brigadoon! Enjoy it all on Saturday, April 1 from 8am to 4.30pm, at the Bundanoon Oval. Tickets are $25 for adults, $20 for concession holders, $10 for children aged five to 17, and $60 for two adults and two children. Come and explore the gardens at this historic mansion in Berrima. Attendees are advised to secure a ticket for a timed entry in advance. The property is open on Saturday, April 1, and Sunday, April 2, from 11am to 3pm. A booking for two adults and two children, or three children and one adult is $44.67, people over 16 can enter can enter for $16.59, and it is $13.47 for concession holders and children from five to 15 years old. Kids under five can enter for free. Tickets can be purchased via Eventbrite.

Best of City and Country Art (BOCCA)
A unique fundraiser
The BOCCA is a fundraiser held by the Bowral District Children's Foundation, to support young people and children in the Highlands. All funds raised go to the foundation. See this unique exhibition until Monday, April 3. The gallery is open from 10am to 4pm daily.
Handicrafts with CWA Bowral
Learn something new
Women interested in learning more about handicrafts can learn new skills and make friends. The CWA Bowral branch's handicraft officer will teach different techniques each month, and all creations will be sold at Tulip Time when donations are given to local charities. It will take place on Tuesday, April 4 from 10am to 12.30pm, at 40 Wingecarribee Street, Bowral. For more information, call 0412 590 855. Morning tea will also be served.

Contemporary paintings
Sydney-based artists Oliver Abbott and Bernie Greaves have created a collection of still life paintings through a contemporary lens. See it until Sunday, April 16 at the Michael Reid Southern Highlands gallery in Berrima. It is open on Monday to Saturdays from 10am to 5pm and 10am to 4pm on Sundays.
Escapism
Drawings full of detail
Gordon Fitchett uses drawing as a way to enter his own world, where he pays homage to animals and nature. See this highly detailed exhibition until Sunday, April 30 at the Milk Factory Gallery. Entry is free and the gallery is open 10am to 4pm from Thursdays to Mondays.
