Wingecarribee Local Planning Panel Meeting
- March 29, online, 3.30pm
Three independent experts and an independent community member will discuss development applications and different proposals. The meeting can be streamed via the council website and agenda can be also found on the site.
Fun 'Da' Mental youth panel
- March 29, Unit 7 'The Village' 63-69 Kirkham Rd, Bowral, 4-5pm
Youth with a passion for the creative arts are invited to help plan a series of arts events in the Highlands for early April. Members of the panel can learn new skills, make friends, add to their resumes, and explore a variety of art forms. It focuses on health, wellbeing and art.
Reconnect Visits - Northern Villages
- March 29, Hill Top Community Centre, 5.30-6.30pm
This meeting covers Balmoral, Yerrinbool, Balmoral, Colo Vale and Buxton, and council providing updates on its progress in the villages. The event is free and people can register through Eventbrite by March 27 at 2pm.
Reconnect Visits - Moss Vale and Werai
- March 30, Civic Centre Theatrette, 5.30-6.30pm
This Reconnect Visits meeting covers the progress council has made in Moss Vale and Werai. The event is free and people can register through Eventbrite by March 28, at 2pm. When people register, they can submit questions.

JP Service
Justice of the Peace volunteers are present to witness documents at the following locations:
- Springett's Arcade: every Wednesday from 10am to 1pm
- Moss Vale IGA: every Thursday from 10am to 1pm
- Mittagong Marketplace: every Friday and Saturday from 10am to 1pm
International Folk Dancing group
- Every Thursday, Bowral Presbyterian Hall, 10.30-11.30am
Learn folk dancing at this weekly class. This group has performed at Tulip Time in the past. Classes are $10 per person. Email Margaret via margaretvconnor@gmail.com for more information.
Prancing for Parkinson's
- Every Thursday, Bowral Baptist Church, 1.30-3pm
People diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease can dance and improve their movements on a weekly basis. They are lead by occupational therapist and dance teacher Margaret Connor. Classes are one hour, followed by a 30 minute debrief with a cuppa. They cost $10 per person with Parkinson's, and friends, family members and carers can participate for free. Crop Swap Robertson
- Every Saturday, CTC Robertson, 9-10.30am
Exchange crops, plants and magazines at this weekly activity. People do not have to come with crops to take anything from the table. No money is exchanged. All are welcome.
Moss Vale Depot Community Nursery
- April 1, Moss Vale Depot, 9am-12pm
The Community Nursery propagates native plants for local bush and river projects. Attendees will learn about native seed collections and storage, plant propagation and how to identify native plants. Groups are limited to 14 people due to restrictions, so registrations are required. The event is free and people interested can apply through a Bushcare and Rivercare volunteer application via council's website.
Handicrafts with CWA Bowral
- April 4, 40 Wingecarribee Street, Bowral (adjacent to the Corbett Gardens), 10am-12.30pm
Women interested in learning more about handicrafts can learn new skills and make friends. The CWA Bowral branch's handicraft officer will teach different techniques each month, and all creations will be sold at Tulip Time when donations are given to local charities. For more information, call 0412 590 855. Morning tea will also be served.
Koori Flag Raising and Mirror Flashing
- April 8, meeting at Gibbergunyah Reserve Entrance on Boronia Street in Bowral, from 1pm
The community is invited to connect with First Nations people and country, with a flag raising event in the heart of the Highlands, with the Woonjeegaribay Conciliation Group Inc. There will be a bush walk, welcome to country, smoking ceremony, poetry, afternoon tea, lessons on bush tucker and medicine, and more. Transport is available for people who may have the difficulty making the walk. A mirror flash will also take place, which acknowledges Gundungurra land, pays respect to Elders past, present and emerging, and connects lands across the Southern Highlands to the Blue Mountains. Attendees are encouraged to bring along a mug and food to share after the ceremony. People can contact the WCG via woonjeegaribay.c.g@gmail.com for more information.
Volunteering opportunities through Volwing
Volwing is the region's volunteer resource organisation, where people can make a difference in the community, learn new skills and make friends. There are a variety of positions available that cater to many interests. Positions include teaching learners to drive, greeting tourists at museums, serving food, being a reading assistant at a primary school, tending to gardens, helping people shop, and more.
