Where to vote: Find your nearest voting booth for the NSW election
SHN: Why have you decided to run for the seat of Wollondilly?
I am running For the NSW parliament to de-corrupt politics and implement sustainable solutions for our future. I have always been a strong advocate for the truth and nature, and that is why I am running for Sustainable Australia Party.
SHN: What is your experience?
I am a spiritual healer and personal transformation coach. I am also a mother to young adult children.
SHN: What are your priorities for Wollondilly and Wingecarribee?
My priorities are protecting our environment, stopping overdevelopment and stopping corruption. This includes protecting endangered species habitats, native forests and local tree canopies, reducing Australia's waste production, acting on climate change, stopping inappropriate high-rise and sprawl, delivering new community infrastructure before more housing, stabilising Australia's population size, transparent reporting of political donations and lobbying, and banning political donations from big business and unions.
SHN: What is your stance on health in the region?
I will better promote preventative health care through healthier lifestyle choices. I want to expand Medicare to include all basic dental services, mandate best-practice minimum nurse-to-patient ratios in hospitals and aged care.
SHN: What is your stance on education in the region?
I will maintain, and where needed, increase funding for public schools. I will prioritise needs-based education funding, as well as teacher and principal quality across the primary and secondary education system, while also encouraging small class sizes in order to better enable teachers to help all students achieve their potential.
SHN: What is your stance on the state of the roads in the region?
I support better road and public transport for regional communities, so if elected, I would closely look at this issue and consult with all stakeholders about how we, as a community, can move forward.
SHN: What will you do for the people of Wollondilly and Wingecarribee?
I will fight for fair government funding for Wollondilly and Wingecarribee as well as fight to protect our environment, stop overdevelopment and stop corruption.
SHN: How will you help tackle the cost of living affecting residents?
I will address the number one expense for most people right now, the housing crisis. We need to address the root cause of the issue, being government-engineered and in hyper-demand. We need to phase out negative gearing and capital gains tax concessions, ban foreign ownership, and stabilise Australia's population size. We also need to invest more in public housing.
SHN: What makes you stand out?
Sustainable Australia Party is an independent community movement with a science and evidence-based policy platform. We are the only party to, based on the clear environmental science, that population growth is a significant contributor to Australia's growing environmental crises, advocate for policies that would stabilise Australia's population size.
