Having never beaten Illawarra before, Paddy Moylan's side had their work cut out for them in the final at Tourist Park on Sunday, February 26, but they managed to bat and bowl their way to a five wicket win.

Moylan said the most pleasing thing about the team all season was that all the players contributed.
"In our trials, we mixed up to batting order, so some kids who normally bat down the bottom batted at the top," the coach said.
Those in the team were 10 to 12-years-old and at that age group, Moylan said it was important the players had fun.
"We want to win, but you want to enjoy the sport too," he said.
"It's also about developing their game and getting them into the next level."
The Highlands wanted to bat first, but were made to bowl after losing the coin toss.
The home side kept Illawarra to a total of 134 runs off their 40 overs in what Highlands captain James Moylan described as a par score.
In the second innings, James said the plan was for one of their openers to attack and the other to defend.
That gave them a decent start and they managed to carry on with it, chasing their target with 21 balls to spare.
