Long time former ABC Arts Show and Foreign Correspondent journalist, Anne Maria Nicholson will talk about her new novel Poker Protocol.
The event will be held at 10am in the Henrietta Rose Room, adjacent to Bowral Library. Morning tea will be served following the talk.
Anne Maria's third novel deals with sex, lies, gambling....and friendships put to the test. The book probes middle Australia and the conflict that ensues when the 'haves' meet the 'have nots'.
Set in a seaside suburb on Sydney Harbour, life appears idyllic from the outside, but cracks are appearing in the lives of five well-heeled, mismatched friends. Affairs, fraud, betrayal and greed.... their 'first world' problems are suddenly challenged when their lives collide with an embattled Afghani family trying to make it in Australia.
Using journalistic skills honed around the world, Anne Maria has embraced fiction. This is her third novel, following the best-selling volcano thriller Weeping Waters and its Italian-set sequel Pliny's Warning.
Copies of Anne Maria's books will be available for sale, and signing, at the event.
Tickets are $15 Friends of Wingecarribee Libraries (FOWL) members, $20 non-members.
You can purchase tickets on Eventbrite, or book through www.library.wsc.nsw.gov.au/events or call the library on 1300 266 235 for more information.
