Creative Space Drop In Day
- February 1, Creative Space Southern Highlands, 9.30am-12pm
Come along and meet creatives in the Highlands and see what projects and training sessions are on offer. No experience is necessary and all ages and abilities are welcome. It is a physically accessible venue and entry is with a gold coin donation.
Seniors Festival: Free swimming access for seniors
- February 1-12, Moss Vale War Memorial Aquatic Centre, 6am-9pm Monday to Friday, 8am-6pm Saturday and 9am-6pm Sunday
Seniors are granted free pool entry and water-based fitness classes will also be available. Call 4868 1967 for more information.
Seniors Festival: Yerrinbool Railway Garden Tour and Morning Tea
- February 1, Yerrinbool Railway Garden, 10.30-11.30am
Jan and Maryann will be holding a garden tour and morning tea in celebration of the Seniors Festival. Dedicated volunteers have been tending to the garden since 2018. Those interested in coming along can call Maryann on 0405 266 481 or Jan on 0450 525 138 to RSVP.
Southern Highlands Evening CWA meeting
- February 2, CWA room in Winifred Park, Mittagong, 6.30-8.30pm
Women with a passion for giving back to the community are invited to join the Southern Highlands Evening (SHE) CWA branch. The branch campaigns for different issues and raises funds and awareness for a variety of causes and groups in the region, and beyond. Seniors Festival: Healthy Bodies Healthy Minds
- February 2, Civic Centre Theatrette, Moss Vale, 10am-12pm
Western Sydney University neuroscientist and brain health advocate Dr Diana Karamacoska will present this workshop, which focuses on a healthy body and mind. Light refreshments are provided and attendees are asked to bring reusable cups if possible. It is free and people can reserve a spot through Eventbrite. Attendees can email the organisers when booking if they have any dietary, accessibility or other requirements.
Seniors Festival: Beamafilm Screening: Iris
- February 3, Bowral Library, 10-11.30am
This documentary showcases fashion and style icon Iris Apfel, known for her quick-wittedness and unapologetically flamboyant taste. The film showcases her creativity, free spirit, and Iris' ethos to dress how one wishes, and to be enthusiastic about life. It is a free event and people can reserve a spot through Eventbrite. It is M rated. Those who have accessibility needs can email the organiser when booking.
Fun Things To Do With Your Photos
- February 3, Civic Centre Theatrette, Moss Vale, 11am-12.30pm
People over 50 can take part in this interactive workshop and learn how to upload photos onto their devices. The workshop also explores how to make photos into gifts and how to edit them. It is free and people can book via Trybooking. It is held by CTC Robertson.
Moss Vale War Memorial Aquatic Centre Community Open Day
- February 4, Moss Vale War Memorial Aquatic Centre, 12-3pm
People of all ages and abilities have the opportunity to discover what they can get up to at the aquatic centre. There will be inflatables, a jumping castle, arts and crafts, gym tours, races, games, a $2 sausage sizzle and more. People can also participate in fitness classes. Attendees can also get a free swimming assessment. It is a free event and call 4868 1967 for more information.
Southern Highlands VIEW Club
- February 13, Mittagong RSL, 12pm for a 12.30pm lunch
The Southern Highlands Voice, Interests and Education of Women (VIEW) Club is looking for ladies who are passionate about giving back to the community, and supporting people in need. The club is one of almost 300 across the country, that has connected many women, and raised funds for The Smith Family.
