Two young, athletic champions have been named as the Berrima District Sport Award recipients for August.

The junior sport recipient is Year 11 Chevalier College student Alfie Cornwell, who has made waves as a dedicated swimmer.
He competed in Australian Short Course Swimming Championships, where he was declared the fourth fastest sixteen-year-old in the country.
The dedicated athlete made the final in the open division for swimming backstroke for 200 metres, and was ranked nineteenth in the open division.
At the time, he qualified alongside Commonwealth Games medalist Bradley Woodward.
Alfie trains six mornings, and three afternoons a week, and became a serious swimmer after his family moved to the Highlands in 2019.
Also a swim teacher, he is preparing for five rounds he has qualified for, in the National Long Course Championships in 2023.

Midfielder and Moss Vale High School graduate Jorji Webb is the senior recipient, who has been playing football since she was four years old.
The talented midfielder was selected in the u18 NSW Country Football team to play in the National Championships, in Canberra, in October.
She was then selected to play NSW Regional Squad for the National Talent Challenge, where she can showcase her talents to national team selectors.
The dedicated sportswoman followed in her mother's footsteps and has played for the Moss Vale Football Club.
Her skills have been seen in the first division for the South East Phoenix in Nowra, the Macarthur Rams, and she has been selected for the West Tigers u19 squad in the Tarsha Gale Cup.
Following her high school studies, Jorji is looking to study personal training.
