Moss Vale SES facility receives financial boost

The council's Administrator thanked the State Member for Goulburn Wendy Tuckerman for her advocacy and the Minister for Emergency Services Steph Cooke in support of this vital community infrastructure.

"The past twelve months has seen our shire inundated by multiple flood and storm events," Mr May said.

"On each of these occasions our local SES units were instrumental in keeping Highlanders safe and their property secure."

"This funding will help the council build a modern new facility in Moss Vale that will enable the men and women of the NSW SES to continue to carry out their vital work.

"The council thanks the NSW SES for their continued support and confidence in our Shire."

SES Deputy Commissioner Damien Johnston said Wingecarribee Shire Council will receive a $1.5 million grant funding towards the project.

"I'm pleased we are allocating funding towards a new and improved Moss Vale facility and look forward to seeing the project progress," Deputy Commissioner Johnston said.

Member for Goulburn Wendy Tuckerman said the Moss Vale SES Unit was one of 18 Units identified as critical priority upgrade projects.

"We need to make sure our volunteers have the best facilities so that they can continue their important work, which is why the NSW Government made a record investment in the Budget to deliver these upgrades, the first of which I'm very proud to say is the Moss Vale Unit," she said.

The purpose-built Moss Vale SES Unit facility will be built adjacent to the co-located Animal Shelter on the council-owned property at 1 Bowman Road in Moss Vale.

The Development Application, including detailed designs of both the SES facility and adjoining Animal Shelter were recently approved by the Regional Planning Panel.
