The lunch took place on October 28 at the Mittagong RSL, after COVID forced the organisation to cancel the fundraising event in the last two years.
More than 220 people attended on the day and contributed to make it a hugely successful event.
President Jason Lewis welcomed guests and highlighted the many contributions that the 4K had still managed to make to kids in need during COVID because of the generosity of the community at previous events.
Master of Ceremonies Paul Milner made sure the day's events flowed whilst the Mittagong RSL made sure the guests were enjoying themselves with a three course menu supplemented by local wines donated by St Maur and Southern Highlands Wines.
Guests were entertained by the amazing speed painter Brad Blaze who wowed the audience with his performance and masterful painting of three rock icons.
He then donated the paintings to the 4K to raise additional funds.
Brad was followed on stage by former rugby league champions and current Fox Sports presenters Nathan Hindmarsh and Bryan Fletcher who provided the audience with plenty of laughs as they recounted some stories from their times in the game and since retiring.
MC Paul Milner then stepped up as auctioneer and did a fantastic job encouraging participants to open their hearts and wallets in support of special deeds for kids in need.
The lunch was paused mid auction to hear from the grandfather of one of the kids the 4K had helped in the past and his emotional recount of the impact that this help had on his son and daughter in law and grandson which seemed to encourage the rest of the auction to really kick off.
More than $100,000 was raised which will help the 4K's continue its work in the community providing support for kids in need and their families.
Jason Lewis said the success of the day belonged to so many people from the hard-working committee, the amazing sponsors and donors and "those who not only signed up to support the day by their attendance but opened their wallets on live and silent auctions and raffles."
"Without the support of this amazing group the day would not have been a success and that would have meant kids in need would miss out," he said.
Since 1989 many people have kindly donated to the 4K both in cash and in-kind donations which are auctioned at their various events to raise funds.
This generosity has enabled us to support disadvantaged or disabled kids, and their families.
