Ordinary Meeting of Council
- September 21, online, 3.30-5pm
Residents have the opportunity to join virtually, to hear about different community affairs. The agenda can be found on council's website and can be livestreamed via the site.
Lunchtime Recital with Brett McKern
- September 21, St Jude's Church Bowral, 1.15pm
Organist Brett McKern will entertain guests with a variety of symphonies. People can enter with a donation.
Kids Connect
- Every Wednesday, Bowral Uniting Church, 3.30-5pm
Primary school aged children are welcome to come along to make some friends and enjoy some food and faith. Dinner is provided and kids can bring a friend for a two dollar donation. You can contact Tammy on 0400851364 to learn more. It is a BMUC families ministry initiative.
JP Service
Two certified Justice of the Peace volunteers are present to witness documents weekly at the following locations:
- Springett's Arcade, Bowral: every Wednesday from 10am to 1pm.
- Moss Vale IGA: every Thursday from 10am to 1pm.
- Mittagong Market Place: every Saturday from 10am to 1pm.
Scottish dancing
- Every Thursday, Bowral Presbyterian Hall, 10.30-11.30am
Southern Highlands Scottish country dancing takes place weekly. New dancers are welcome. Residents can call Margaret on 0466166 866 for more information.
Robertson Public School 150th community fair
- September 24, Robertson Public School, 9am-3pm
Celebrate the legacy of Robertson Public School at this local fair. There will be rides, farm animals, games, arts and crafts, a market, food stalls and more! Entry is free and attendees are advised to bring along cash for stalls, as EFTPOS machines are limited. Funds raised will go towards a new playground.
Robertson Public School celebratory dinner
- September 24, Robertson Bowling Club, 6-10pm
Festivities will continue with a dinner at Robertson Bowling Club, where past and present teachers, students and families are invited to come along. Tickets are $50 each and include a two-course meal, entertainment and a glass of wine. Bookings can be made via Trybooking.
Spring Fair
- September 24, Bowral Uniting Church, from 8am
There will be stalls full of DVDs, baked goods, plants, books and more, as well as tasty treats and a barbecue at this fair. Children can take part in different activities and enjoy a jumping castle throughout the day. There will also be tea and coffee.
Mittagong Junior Disco
- September 24, Mittagong RSL, 4-6pm
Children can strap on their dancing shoes and get groovy with their friends at the this disco. There won't be just dancing they can look forward to - attendees will have the chance to win gift vouchers, which will be drawn on the night. Entry is five dollars per child, with funds going back to children in the local community. You can call 0412 321 555 if you require further information. It is a cash only event.
Tulip Time
- Until October 3, Corbett Gardens
Thousands of tulips and annuals will be in bloom for one of the region's most beloved festivals. This year's theme is to explore, and there are plenty of things to discover. For the first time, you can see the tulips after dark, with live entertainment every Friday and Saturday evening. There are morning, afternoon and evening sessions to see the flowers. Residents can enter for free and bring proof of their residency. Tickets are $13.40 per adult, $8.18 for concession holders and children between 13 and 17 years old, and children under 12 can enter for free. Tickets can be purchased via Eventbrite. Only companion dogs are allowed.
Moidart Open Days
- Until October 4, Moidart, 9am-2pm
Bring along a picnic to enjoy in the woodlands, explore the formal gardens and bamboo tunnel and browse through a nursery full of global plants. Over the last six months, more than 2000 plants have been put in the ground, where attendees can discover hundreds of plants throughout the springtime gardens. No dogs are permitted inside. Entry is five dollars per person.
