It's been 100 years, but the 1922 Bong Bong Cup has been returned back to the Bong Bong Picnic Race Club.

It marks the centenary of when it was won 100 years ago.
John Thomas inherited the cup through a connection to the Strickland Family. His family were early farmers in the Parkes and Forbes areas.
He arrived in style to donate the cup in his 1951 Rolls Royce
Mr Shaw Strickland from Forbes won the 1922 cup with horse Yarcone.
At the time, the Cup was presented by the Governor of NSW Sir Walter Davidson.
John said he was proud to donate the cup back to the club on behalf of both the Thomas and Strickland Families.
John will be a guest of the club this year on race day on November 18, marking the first Bong Bong Picnic Race he's attended
A formal presentation will be made on race day to mark the occasion.
