A post to the Robertson Facebook page said it was an opportunity for everyone to enjoy the event, and to support businesses and vendors.
"We understand the challenges our exhibitors and entertainers face with this unpredictable weather and too many festivals have simply shut down," the post said.
"That's why we've made the unprecedented decision to forego all gate income, allowing everyone to enjoy a day of fun without worrying about entry fees."
Those who attend instead of paying to enter, have the chance to donate to the Rural Fire Brigade, the post said.
Onsite parking at the Robertson Showground will be limited, but there will be free shuttle buses between 10am and 4pm, that will depart and return to the Big Potato and the soccer fields.
Popular events and activities are still going to go ahead, such as Hessians on the Field and the cooking demonstrations.
